“VDP” (/fouw-dē-pē/) is the abbreviation for a German winery association called the Verband Deutscher Qualitäts- und Prädikatsweingüter. The VDP privately regulates its winery members and wines using a special classification system. It subjects VDP wines and wineries to rigorous standards in addition to those imposed by German wine law. The VDP can be readily recognized by its iconic eagle and grape cluster logo it has used since 1926. Weingut Matthias Müller is a member of the VDP.
