The winery (“weingut”) Nauerth-Gnägy is a family winery formed by the marriage of Mareen Nauerth and Michael Gnägy in 2011 which joined the two successful Nauerth and Gnägy family wineries. As a result, the winery underwent radical changes involving branding, building new grand facilities, and operating a combined 26 vineyard hectares. Weingut Nauerth-Gnägy is riding a surge of momentum as they push forward into the American market for the first time.
Weingut Nauerth-Gnägy is as far south in the Pfalz region as you can go before entering France. They sit in a picturesque wine village called Schweigen-Rechtenbach. From their new wine cellar you can even see France just a short way in the distance. The terroir surrounding Schweigen-Rechtenbach enables Weingut Nauerth-Gnägy to produce international grape varieties that are not common in Germany. For example, their chardonnay is exemplary. Their vineyard tracts include the Pfarrwingert, Herrenwingert, Herrenpfad, and Sonnenberg.
Weingut Nauerth-Gnägy is committed to working as close to nature as possible both in their vineyards where they individually till the soil and in their new cellar where they operate with energy from large solar panels. The fantastic wine of Weingut Nauerth-Gnägy is the result of extreme care and diligence. It will be apparent when you try your first bottle.
