Weingut J. Faber
Weingut J. Faber, located in the village of Minheim, was founded in 1908 by Jakob Faber and has remained in the same family ever since. Now in its fourth generation, the family passed the winery to Gregor Faber in 2004 at the remarkable age of just 18.
As part of Germany’s growing number of young wine makers, the award-winning Gregor Faber learned about wine making through apprenticeships at Weingut Lehmann-Schick (Pfalz) and Max Ferd. Richter (Mosel). Now at the helm of Weingut Faber, Gregor places an emphasis not just on the cultivation of Riesling, but also uncommon red wine varietals along the steep slopes of the Mosel.
Weingut Faber is a small family winery with only seven hectares of vineyards that include plantings in the famous Piesporter Goldtröpfchen and the Piesporter Michelsberg, both of which are represented in the wines we’re excited to share with you in our selection from Weingut J. Faber.
